LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Protect AR Rights announced Friday that it has submitted 108,837 petition signatures to the Arkansas Secretary of State in an effort to place the Arkansas Ballot Measure Rights Amendment before voters.
According to the campaign, volunteers and coalition partners collected signatures in all 75 Arkansas counties over the past several months. The proposed constitutional amendment aims to protect the state’s citizen-led ballot initiative process.
“Today’s submission is a testament to what people can accomplish when they come together to defend democracy,” said Dara Gaines, Ph.D., Field Director for the campaign. “We’re deeply grateful to every volunteer, coalition member, community organizer, and voter who made today possible.”

The Secretary of State’s Office will now begin verifying the submitted signatures to determine whether the campaign has collected enough valid signatures to qualify for the ballot.
