LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the Arkansas Department of Commerce said the June unemployment report shows more Arkansans are employed than were in May.
The report shows unemployment dropping 0.1% compared to May. This puts June unemployment at 4.1%, compared to May’s 4.2%.

The report, which used data from the National Bureau of Labor Statistics, noted that the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers metropolitan area ranked third among U.S. metropolitan statistical areas for year-over-year nonfarm job growth, with payroll employment increasing 2.9% from June 2025 to June 2026.
The report stated that Arkansas’ civilian labor force grew by 1,919 people in June, while the number of employed residents increased by 2,830. Both the labor force and employment reached record highs, and the state’s labor force participation rate rose to 59.2%…
