GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Grand Rapids-based rescue that has been saving animals from across the country for nearly 30 years is now asking for help because medical bills have become so overwhelming that it has to stop taking in new medical cases.
Michele’s Rescue took in Bojangles the cat in October after he was found unresponsive and poisoned in Kentucky. He also has deformed back legs that impact walking. With all that, he has been on a long recovery journey. Reconstruction required multiple surgeries and 3D-printed pieces to recreate his leg. The operations cost thousands of dollars.
