Haines City Man Trades Short Cut For Felony Charges After Dumping Construction Debris

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A local construction worker’s shortcut landed him behind bars after deputies caught him using a Polk County citrus grove as his personal dumping ground.

Christopher Suppa, 21, of Haines City, was arrested Thursday, July 2, 2026, after Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies found a massive pile of construction debris dumped in a Dundee grove. Suppa allegedly admitted he threw the waste there because he did not want to make the long drive to his intended destination. He now faces multiple third-degree felony charges, including illegal dumping and trespassing on agricultural property.
