Thousands remain without power after Fourth of July storms

ST. LOUIS – Thousands of Ameren Missouri customers remain without power after strong storms moved through the St. Louis area on the Fourth of July, bringing down trees and power lines across the region.

Ameren said their crews have been working around the clock to restore service. In a social media update, the utility said it has restored power to more than 50,000 customers since outages began around 4 p.m. Friday.
