CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A Dental Hygienist pressured a patient into an expensive treatment plan he did not need, a state board said.
The Iowa Dental Board reached a settlement agreement with Abby Young, a dental hygienist in Cedar Rapids. The settlement cites Young with a warning and requires her to take an educational course on periodontics and ethics.
According to the final order from the board, Young told a patient he had periodontal disease and that his teeth would fall out if he did not get treatment as soon as possible.
