ST. LOUIS (First Alert 4) — Residents in downtown St. Louis have raised concerns about loitering and drug use near the Mark Twain Hotel for years. A First Alert 4 investigation into those concerns, including a review of police dispatch records and court filings, found nearly 1,000 calls for service to the building over five years.
When Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway was asked what her office planned to do about it, her answer was direct.
“It’s a hellhole,” Hanaway said. “It’s one of the biggest problems in the city. And that’s why we put it at the top of the list.”…
