(NewsNation) — Several cases of missing or dead scientists have sparked speculation the cases could be related and possibly tied to government research they were connected to.
LA Magazine’s Lauren Conlin joined NewsNation to discuss the cases and the ways timelines don’t always match up.

Retired Air Force Major General William Neil McCasland was reported missing after leaving his Albuquerque, New Mexico, home on foot Feb. 27, according to local authorities, who have teamed up with the FBI to find the former military official.

According to his wife, McCasland had been experiencing brain fog and cognitive decline, yet he was actively working for Department of Defense contractors like Sandia National Laboratories and Riverside Research.
“He reportedly wanted to leave, according to his wife,” Conlin said. “He couldn’t keep up with conversations due to the cognitive decline.”
