As the calendar switched from June to July and the temperatures continue to increase in the Empire State, people all over Western New York were getting ready to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America during the 4th of July weekend. While the weekend was mostly filled with family friendly fun and all sorts of displays of patriotism, the holiday weekend also filled with several incidents of violence that hit communities in Niagara Falls, Buffalo, and Rochester.
In Buffalo, there were several events that rocked parts of the city. From a block party on East Delavan Ave that got out of hand and spurred several shootings to a fight in South Buffalo that got crazy and resulted in allegations that a Buffalo Police officers’ house was targeted by vandals.
In the end, more than 10 folks were shot and several neighborhoods were left to pick up the pieces.
