BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — While school’s out for summer recess, Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Pascal Mubenga spoke about what the district should expect this fall as the school bell rings in a new school year.
“By the time our babies come back and our staff comes back in September, we’re going to be in good shape,” Mubenga said. “I’m really excited by the implementation of the strategic plan, which is going to show some gain when it comes to student achievement.”
On Tuesday, WIVB News 4 spoke to Mubenga about several questions people might have this summer, including any update regarding the altercation between a teacher’s aide and student in one of the last weeks of the school year.

“All I can say, we are living in a society where folks just grab whatever’s in social media, and they think that it’s all the facts,” Mubenga said. “Whatever happened between the adult and the student was very unfortunate; the adult is not supposed to get close to the students like that, and the student’s not supposed to get close to the adults. We’ve been addressing both, the adults and the students as well, and I hope those are not the behavior that I would expect in any of our buildings.”…
