Riverside could soon have a clearer legal pathway for converting vacant office and commercial buildings into housing, with the City Council set to consider adopting an adaptive reuse ordinance.
The council will take up the proposed ordinance at its July 14 meeting, which begins at 1:00 PM at the Art Pick Council Chamber, 3900 Main Street.
If adopted, the ordinance would add two new chapters to Riverside’s municipal code: Chapter 16.15, establishing alternative building standards for adaptive reuse projects, and Chapter 19.540, establishing matching zoning rules…
