ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Roanoke City Council is moving to make it harder for new vape and tobacco shops to set up near places where kids gather, after concerns that young people are gaining access to vaping products, synthetic marijuana, cannabis and kratom.
“A lot of our youth are getting their hands on vapes, synthetic marijuana, cannabis— and all types of other kratom products and extracts,” Roanoke City Councilman Phazhon Nash said. Nash argues some of those products are coming from vape shops, including stores located not far from schools and other youth-focused areas.
