Louisiana rapper Mystikal transferred to Angola prison to serve 20-year sentence

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — New Orleans rapper Mystikal has been transferred to the Louisiana State Penitentiary.

Michael Lawrence Tyler, better known by his stage name Mystikal, 55, will serve his 20-year sentence at Angola after being convicted of third-degree rape.

Tyler was arrested in August 2022 and held in the Ascension Parish Jail before the transfer, according to jail records. He remained in custody without bond…
