(KRON) — A 54-year-old Georgia woman was arrested in Palo Alto Monday after allegedly burglarizing an occupied home and later trying to get into locked cars, according to police.
Funda Yilmaz, the Palo Alto Police Department said, entered a residence in the 1100 block of Ramona Street through an unlocked back door around 7:40 a.m. and began to stuff approximately $1,000 worth of belongings into her backpack. A woman who lives at the residence went to the kitchen to find the suspect, whom she did not recognize, and told her to leave.
The resident called police as the burglar fled the area. “The Palo Alto Police arrived within minutes and canvased the area but were unable to locate the suspect,” authorities said.
