Kalamazoo man arrested after investigators find stolen handgun concealed

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A man was arrested in Kalamazoo last month for illegally possessing and concealing a gun.

On June 30, members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) were on patrol focusing on addressing gun violence in Kalamazoo.

While on patrol, personnel saw a person illegally conceal a gun on himself on Lake Street.

The subject was known to KVET, and had previously been arrested for illegally carrying a gun, KVET said in a release.

He was located and detained without incident. A search of the suspect yielded a loaded gun with an extended magazine, concealed in his waistband, which had been reported stolen in 2024…
