Multi-state burglary ring targeting Asian businesses ends in prison sentences

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Four Colombian nationals were sentenced to federal prison for a multi-state burglary conspiracy that targeted Asian American business owners in Oregon and Washington, federal prosecutors announced Wednesday.

The four carried out the thefts by traveling from state to state and staying in Airbnbs to find their targets, who were all Asian business owners.

According to court documents, the group was accused of burglarizing a home in Auburn, Wash., on Oct. 3, 2025, followed by another in Eugene, Ore., on Oct. 6, 2025. They also hit another home in Salem, Ore., on Oct. 9, 2025. They also hit multiple states outside of Oregon and Washington, including California, Nevada, and Idaho.

The group allegedly used signal-jamming technology, perimeter counter-surveillance, and seven-way calls to carry out the burglaries.
