Authorities have identified the young man who died in a firework explosion on the rooftop of an abandoned building in the Twin Cities over Fourth of July weekend.
The incident was reported around 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant near County Road I, where first responders used a boom lift from a fire truck to get the victim to the ground. He was initially said to be unconscious but breathing after a firework exploded in his hand, but he later died at a hospital.
According to the Lake Johanna Fire Department, it was determined that the man was holding a mortar tube with a 2-inch firework when it exploded in front of a group of 15 to 20 people…
