An Orange County jail inmate being held on suspicion of criminal threats and other offenses died this week after suffering a medical emergency and being transported to a local hospital, authorities announced Friday.
The inmate, identified as 61-year-old Manuel Moreno of Yorba Linda, had been housed at the Theo Lacy Facility in Orange since Dec. 11, 2025, after being booked by the Placentia Police Department on suspicion of resisting arrest, criminal threats, obstructing or delaying a peace officer, destruction of evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Moreno was taken by ambulance to a local hospital Tuesday, July 7, because of unspecified medical issues. He was pronounced dead the following day…
