Meridian Fire swiftwater team aids Kuna rescue of trapped swimmer in Indian Creek

KUNA, Idaho (CBS2) — A swimmer who became trapped in Indian Creek in Kuna was rescued Friday evening after swiftwater crews from multiple agencies worked together to free the person and bring them safely to shore.

The Meridian Fire Department responded at about 7:40 p.m. on 7/10/26 with specialized swiftwater rescue resources to assist Kuna Fire & Rescue with the water rescue along the creek. Meridian Fire sent Battalion 31, Ladder 31, and Tech 31 after reports that a swimmer had become foot-entrapped.

Kuna Fire & Rescue personnel arrived first and began establishing rescue operations, including deploying a rescue swimmer into the water. Members of Meridian Fire’s Special Operations Team arrived shortly afterward and joined the ongoing effort.
