Effective Aug. 1, residents will find an extra $14.50 tacked on to their monthly utility bills, the result of two new fees approved by the Beaverton City Council to address rising expenses and declining revenues.
On Tuesday, July 7, the council approved both a general services fee and a street maintenance fee, collectively tied to such issues as property tax limitations, increases in employee health costs, rises in materials and services and declining gas taxes.
