HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — A proposed bill in Harrisburg looks to upgrade charges for people who spit or expel other bodily fluids on another person.
Currently, spitting on someone in Pennsylvania results in a summary charge, but Representative Mark Gillen (R-Berks) believes there needs to be an upgraded charge. He has introduced a co-sponsorship memo for legislation he plans to introduce in the near future that would make the act a simple assault, which is a second-degree misdemeanor (M2) in the Commonwealth.
