Kentucky’s La Familia alumni team can’t catch a break ahead of feud with The Ville

The Basketball Tournament’s (TBT) summer antics have become a favorite pastime of the Big Blue Nation’s throughout the last few summers. The alumni league always seems to land at the exact right time; when news slows for current collegiate programs, players of the past hit the scene and, especially in Lexington, move the needle for basketball fans in their annual wait.

But this season, things are quickly coming apart at the seams for Kentucky’s La Familia squad. After losing Kerr Kriisa as a result of his arrest, the team has now suffered a second blow in the form of big man Reid Travis’ dissent. This is the second time in three years that Travis has had to back out of TBT competition, with the first being due to “unforeseen professional obligations” back in 2024.

We just can’t catch a break right now, Cats fans. La Familia’s official X account addressed the absence of Travis on the team’s website (which BBN was quick to notice) with a sorrowful statement. Take a look:…
