SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Regional Emergency Communications (SREC) is making progress in the construction of its “Radio Shop,” sharing video footage on Tuesday of the reinforced walls being lifted into place at the site of the upcoming facility.
Crews reportedly began placing the walls on June 30, marking a significant step towards completing what the communications organization believes will be a model of “resiliency.”
“Each panel is nearly 12 inches thick, built with reinforced concrete and insulation before being lifted into place,” SREC officials said. “They’re designed to create a resilient, energy-efficient workspace that will support one of the region’s most critical public safety functions: radio communications.”…
