New guest limits could be coming to Charleston’s short-term rentals

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — Charleston leaders are one step closer to updating the city’s short-term rental ordinance after the Planning Commission advanced a package of changes designed to make the rules easier to understand and enforce.

If approved by the Charleston City Council, the proposal would mark the first major update to the city’s short-term rental ordinance since 2018.
