NCDOT to review exit ramp where school bus overturned in Brunswick County

LELAND, N.C. (WECT) – The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) said Wednesday it is reviewing the exit ramp where a school bus overturned earlier this month, injuring four people.

NCDOT’s Traffic Safety Unit will examine crash data, pavement markings, signage and road conditions at the interchange of U.S. 17 and U.S. 74, a spokesperson for the agency said. The agency said it will take “appropriate actions” once the review is complete.

The crash occurred July 8, when a Cumberland County Schools bus carrying members of the Douglas Byrd High School football team overturned on the exit ramp from northbound U.S. 17 to westbound U.S. 74…
