Decades-old Tudor’s Biscuit World deposit bag donated to Tudor House

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – A discovery inside the Western Virginia Water Authority’s headquarters has turned into an unexpected donation for a local nonprofit. During renovations, crews found a night deposit bag from Tudor’s Biscuit World that went missing more than 30 years ago and now, that money is going toward suicide prevention and mental health support through Tudor House.

“So this is a fun story that had its beginnings back in 1992. On that particular night, something happened and instead of going into the bottom of the box, the bag slipped between the box and the wall and ended up in the wall cavity,” said Sarah Baumgardner, Director of Public Relations for Western Virginia Water Authority.

That deposit bag from Tudor’s Biscuit World sat hidden for decades inside a former downtown Roanoke bank building, now home to the Western Virginia Water Authority. During renovations last fall, contractors removed the night deposit box and found it, dusty on the outside but preserved inside…
