Father found not guilty in young son’s death to remain at mental health facility

MARION, Iowa (KCRG) – The Marion father found not guilty by reason of insanity for strangling his young son to death, will remain at a mental health facility.

A judge is ordering Matthew Schleier to remain at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute after the court found Schleier remains mentally ill and is currently a danger to himself and others.
