WICHITA COUNTY (KFDX/KJTL) — A routine traffic stop turned into a large drug bust for deputies with the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday, July 14, at 6:17 p.m., deputies were patrolling the area along U.S. Highway 287 when they noticed a black Chrysler van with North Carolina registration traveling south in the left lane near Burnett Ranch Road.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the van appeared to be traveling faster than the posted construction-zone speed limit of 60 MPH.
Additionally, deputies said the van remained in the left lane when it was not actively passing any other vehicles.
