Milwaukee latest city to ban ICE masks: Is it legal?

(NewsNation) — Milwaukee’s clash with the Justice Department over masks is the latest battle in a growing effort by states and cities to require ICE agents to identify themselves during enforcement operations.

After Milwaukee accused ICE of violating its new ordinance banning federal agents from wearing masks that conceal their identities, the Justice Department said ICE will not comply, calling the law unconstitutional and giving city officials until Friday to assure the Trump administration it will not be enforced against federal officers.

Similar laws have been enacted in California, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Virginia, while cities including Philadelphia have adopted their own ordinances…
