SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO)– Our heatwave has continued across KELOLAND for the middle of the week. Forecast highs on Wednesday were back into the 90s again, along with a few 100s.
For many locations, the end of June through the middle of July is when we typically have our first triple-digit high of the year. This does not happen every year, though.
Sioux Falls, Chamberlain, Watertown, and Aberdeen have not hit 100 since 2023. These are not the only communities that are still waiting to reach 100 this year.
The majority of the East River has stayed below this benchmark, while western KELOLAND has already marked a few days like this in the record books…
