Heat and humidity stick around through the weekend but below-normal temperatures return next week

(Dakota News Now) – You guessed it, more heat is on the way for Friday! Most of us will top out in the 90s to near 100 under a cloudless sky, along with just a light southwest breeze coming in at 5-10 mph. There is now a Heat Advisory issued over much of the region from 1 pm to 9 pm this evening. Some of our feels like temperatures will rise to the lower triple digits! Make sure you’re taking plenty of breaks if you’re spending time outdoors, and staying plenty hydrated! It’ll stay clear Friday night and Saturday, but Saturday looks to be a bit cooler and not as sticky. However, hotter temperatures return for Sunday, and it’ll be another day with all kinds of sunshine.

We actually have a chance for a thunderstorm or two Sunday night, but we’re not expecting any severe storms at this time. Monday will be another First Alert Weather Day with highs well into the 90s before we finally get some longer-lasting relief from the heat beginning on Tuesday. By the middle of next week, our temperatures will actually fall a bit below average, in the low to middle 80s!…
