After more than 30 years as the capital’s professional ballet company, Columbia Classical Ballet is ready to begin teaching its craft at the School of Columbia Classical Ballet in Five Points (610 Harden St.).
Children ages three through 18 will be able to train in the same studios as the professional company, taught by the dancers and coaches who perform on stage during open classes, which start Aug. 10 and are offered at no or low cost. Following open classes, year round registration classes start Sept. 8 and are available year round.
Beginning Aug. 31, the ballet company will have class every weekday at 10 a.m., and as the studio sits behind a wall of glass, Five Points pedestrians will have a front row seat to professional dancers at work every day…
