A hillside home in Eagle Rock was largely destroyed by a fire Thursday afternoon that began in some brush then extended to the structure, injuring one firefighter.
The fire was reported around 2 p.m. near the northbound 2 Freeway, with flames burning about an acre of vegetation and advancing toward homes on Palmer Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The California Highway Patrol shut down several lanes of the 2 Freeway in the area due to the fire. It was not immediately clear when they would reopen…
