Teen accused of throwing marijuana onto rooftops in Nashville neighborhood

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A teen accused of throwing marijuana onto rooftops in a Nashville neighborhood while fleeing law enforcement is now in custody, officials said.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the incident began after detectives initiated a traffic stop on a Mercedes sedan after it was seen speeding in the Brick Church Pike area around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15.

Instead of stopping, officials said the driver fled from officers at more than 100 mph. The Mercedes was reportedly followed by an MNPD helicopter and eventually stopped on Chesapeake Drive.

Authorities said the driver of the Mercedes—identified as 19-year-old Markeese Crowell—got out of the vehicle and ran through backyards in an attempt to evade detectives. While running away along Chesapeake Circle, an aviation crew observed Crowell throw two bags of marijuana onto the roofs of two homes.
