POTTER COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Texas Attorney General’s Office reported the Monday death of an incarcerated person at the Clements Unit after a suspected suicide, bringing the total number of in-custody deaths at the unit since June 19 up to four.
According to the office report, 21-year-old John Coy Puckett was pronounced dead by hospital staff just after 2 a.m. on Monday. He had been hospitalized on Sunday after he was found unresponsive in his cell.
