As a certain famous Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett song tells us, we don’t have to pay much mind to what time the hands on the clock read — happy hour can begin whenever you deem most fit. And if anyone deserves an early-day cocktail or later-evening margarita, it’s us hardworking Fort Worthians, 5 o’clock be damned.
But we have to admit, there’s nothing quite like punching out of work and grabbing a salt-rimmed cocktail and a tasty appetizer to pair with it — especially at a discount. Which is why we’ve rounded up a few of Fort Worth’s best happy hour spots to help you make the most of quitting time.
The Usual
When The Usual first broke onto the Fort Worth bar scene some 15 years ago, it was said to have filled a gap Cowtown had long been feeling — a proper, classy joint to order a Sidecar. Considered the second-oldest craft cocktail bar in Texas (behind a Houston bar), The Usual’s reputation is still going strong today with its classic, bartender-made happy hour menu in its dark, cozy space. Some highlights include $5 Martinis, Moscow Mules, and Daiquiris, along with a $6 Old Fashioned.
Happy hour: Sunday + Monday all night; Tuesday-Friday 4-7 p.m.…
