The superstructure and substructure steel needed to replace the West 24th Street South bridge over Buck Creek, northeast of Monroe, has been purchased. Jasper County’s Bridge Crew plans to carry out that project next spring, according to Jasper County Engineer Mike Frietsch. The $206,874 purchase price for the steel from Oden Enterprises of Wahoo, Nebraska was significantly lower than Frietsch expected.
