JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A former Hinds County district attorney who pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy in connection with the Jackson bribery scandal has resigned from the Mississippi Bar.
On Thursday, Jody Owens submitted his “irrevocable resignation” from the Bar, just days after the group filed a formal complaint against him in response to his conviction.
According to the one-page notice, Owens says the Bar’s complaint is the only disciplinary action against him, and that he does not “desire to defend these matters.”…
