Caldwell, ID — On a hot summer day at Indian Creek Plaza, business owners say the heat can make it harder to draw daytime crowds, even as the popular Caldwell destination continues to bring people downtown for events, shopping and dining.
Depending on the time of day, visitors can still be found enjoying the plaza’s splash pads, entertainment and other activities. Marci Blandford, program and event manager for Destination Caldwell, said the season has been strong.
“It’s been such a great summer; we work really hard at Destination Caldwell to create events that draw the public, come down here for events to shop and dine and experience all the great offerings that are down here,” Blandford said.
But at the hottest points of the day, business owners said foot traffic drops. On Thursday, when temperatures crept toward the triple digits, they said crowds thinned before picking back up later…
