‘Life After Lockup’ personality ‘Moka Blast’ faces criminal charge, $31K judgment in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Legal troubles are piling up against a man who was the subject of previous stories by the 8 News Now Investigators and who appeared on the reality show, “Life after Lockup,” under the name Moka Blast.

Lydell Birch, 46, is now charged in a criminal case, and ordered to pay a nearly $31,000 judgment in a separate civil case.

The criminal case

In the criminal case, Birch is accused of intimidating a senior license officer for the city of Las Vegas Business Licensing Division who was investigating him for operating an unlicensed business, according to court records obtained by the 8 News Now Investigators.

The senior license officer said that while she was trying to serve a cease and desist letter on April 9, “the owner prevented her from conducting her official duties by intimidation,” a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department report stated…
