Man charged with drug smuggling after arrest at Honolulu airport

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A man is in federal custody after customs officers said they found methamphetamine inside two of his carry-on bags as he attempted to board a flight from Honolulu to Seoul, South Korea on July 10.

Court documents allege Geraldo Figueroa Jr. told officers he was offered $30,000 to fly from California to Honolulu to pickup the bags in airport bathroom and then fly with them to Seoul.

Prosecutors have filed a motion to hold Figueroa without bail. A hearing on the motion is set for Friday…
