A few blocks of brick buildings sit along Trade Street and East Poinsett Street, close to a depot built for an earlier version of the local economy.
Outside that compact pocket, the day has already scattered: school traffic moves toward campuses on Hammett Bridge Road, East Gap Creek Road, and Gin House Road; production and warehouse shifts pull cars toward the wider Upstate; airport workers and travelers follow another clock entirely…
