ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Transportation is seeking public input on a study examining the potential for passenger rail service between Atlanta and Savannah.
The public comment period for the Atlanta-Savannah Intercity Passenger Rail Project runs through Aug. 6, 2026. GDOT is asking travelers to share feedback on their travel preferences as the agency evaluates possible service options.
The study, which follows similar examinations in years past, will examine the benefits and costs of passenger rail service between Atlanta and Savannah, identify and narrow down potential service alternatives, and focus on financially feasible and practical implementation options.
