Lansdale man draws prison for ‘violent and brutal attack’ that left victim with brain injury

NORRISTOWN — Calling a Lansdale man “a danger to society,” a judge sent him to prison for “a violent and brutal attack” during which he body-slammed another man against the ground, face down, multiple times, causing severe brain injuries during an altercation in Hatfield Township.

Joshua Ryan Ronan, 32, of the 100 block of East Main Street, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 8 to 20 years in prison on a felony charge of aggravated assault in connection with the 11:11 p.m. Nov. 5, 2024, assault of Mark Christopher Miller, 41, during a gathering of friends at a residence in the 1200 block of Cabin Road in Hatfield.

“It is simply a violent and brutal attack on someone who annoyed you, mouthed off to you. That puts you in a class of maliciousness,” Judge Steven T. O’Neill addressed Ronan, referring to witness statements that the victim “mouthed off to the wrong person.” “For that, he got a brick or a slam down to the pavement. I doubt he was much of a threat to you.”…
