Lucky Street Tragedy: Hollywood Man Charged In Hard Rock Hit-And-Run Death

A Hollywood man was arrested Thursday, July 16, 2026, and now faces a first-degree felony after investigators say he drove away from a crash that killed a motorcyclist near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in January. Police say the collision happened in the early hours of Jan. 13 at the intersection of State Road 7 and Lucky Street.

According to surveillance video and a Seminole Police Department report, a Lexus was seen at the crash scene and later at what officers say was the suspect’s home, a trail investigators say led to the arrest. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Ludgy Sanon, allegedly told a family member he had borrowed a 2000 Lexus GS 300 and remembered “striking a pothole” after work on Jan. 13, according to Local 10.

“Sanon appeared visibly shocked and mortified, especially after learning that the individual had died,” an officer wrote in the report reviewed by Local 10. County booking logs show he was processed on July 16 and is facing a first-degree charge for leaving the scene of a crash involving death, according to Broward arrest records.

How police say the crash unfolded

According to the police report, a 62-year-old woman driving a 2015 Toyota Camry was heading north on SR-7 and tried to make a turn when a southbound motorcycle braked, lost control and slid into the passenger side of the car.
