Convicted felon sentenced after running from authorities with stolen handgun

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A convicted felon will sonn return to jail.

Cameron Banks was sentenced to 1 year in prison, 2 years on work release and 3 years on the DAPS program. This sentencing is concurrent to his current meth sentence.

According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, Banks was arrested last year after he attempted to run away from a vehicle that was stopped by sheriff’s deputies. Deputies say during a traffic stop, he ran out of the vehicle, threw away a gun and ran from law enforcement.
