SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) — A Spartanburg County woman was sentenced to 21 years in prison after shooting and killing her boyfriend following an argument in 2023, the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office announced Friday.
Zaria Aiyanna Owens, 25, of Moore, was found guilty Thursday of voluntary manslaughter and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime after a trial that began Monday.
Deputy Solicitor Spenser Smith prosecuted the case. The court also imposed a concurrent five-year sentence for the weapon conviction.
