Huntsville stabbing suspect seeks drug records in self-defense bid

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A man charged in connection with a deadly stabbing on Mountain Gap Road is pursuing a self-defense claim, and his attorneys are seeking drug test records from the surviving victim.

Lester Cruz is accused of stabbing two women at a home on Mountain Gap Road. Investigators say one of the women, Zennella Pena-Sandoval, died following the attack.
