Kalamazoo County deputy shot, injured by larceny suspect

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office deputy is recovering at a local hospital after being shot during a struggle with a larceny suspect Friday morning.

The sheriff’s office says it happened just before 9 a.m. in the 6300 block of East AB Avenue when the suspect was trying to steal items from a vehicle.

The suspect then stole the deputy’s cruiser and led police on a chase throughout different areas of Kalamazoo County, and it ended with a crash in Kalamazoo Township near the sheriff’s office…
