KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Scattered showers and storms return today and will continue off and on through the weekend.
FRIDAY: Filtered sunshine early on before more active weather arrives. By lunchtime, isolated downpours are likely, but not widespread until after 2PM throughout the evening when scattered showers or storms pick up. These are very slow moving storms, so rainfall could add up quickly, leading to a low-end risk for flooding. There will be some breaks in the activity, allowing highs to still range from 85-90 and feeling evening hotter with muggy conditions in full swing. Most of the activity looks to gradually dwindle shortly after sunset.
SATURDAY-SUNDAY: Isolated to scattered showers or storms both days as another front nears. Doesn’t mean everyone sees the rain, but hit or miss storms may impact outdoor plans.
